The Role
As a Compliance Analyst, you’ll play a hands-on role in building and managing xPay’s compliance processes as we scale. You’ll work closely with Legal, Risk, Operations, Product and Engineering to strengthen merchant onboarding and regulatory compliance.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who can look beyond checklists, understand how a business operates and turn compliance requirements into practical processes. You’ll have the opportunity to build policies, controls and workflows from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
Build and implement compliance policies, SOPs, risk assessment frameworks and internal controls aligned with xPay’s business model and payment flows.
Own merchant onboarding compliance and due diligence, including KYC/KYB, beneficial ownership checks, CDD, EDD, PEP, sanctions and adverse-media screening.
Maintain AML/CFT and ongoing compliance monitoring processes, support applicable regulatory reporting and ensure compliance activities are documented.
Work with Legal and other internal teams, banking partners and auditors to strengthen compliance controls, improve tools and dashboards, and support regulatory and audit requirements.
What We’re Looking For
4–7 years of hands-on compliance experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce, banking or cross-border payments, with direct ownership of merchant onboarding compliance and ongoing reviews.
Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC/KYB, beneficial ownership, due diligence, sanctions screening and suspicious activity reporting.
Experience building or implementing compliance policies, SOPs and operational controls, with working knowledge of applicable RBI regulations, FEMA, PMLA and FIU-IND requirements.
Understanding of FATF recommendations and standards, OFAC sanctions and other major sanctions frameworks.
Comfort working independently in an early-stage environment; experience in cross-border payments, merchant acquiring or payment aggregators, and certifications such as CAMS, ICA or CFE, are a plus.
Why xPay?
Help build and shape the compliance function from the ground up.
Work closely with founders and cross-functional teams on decisions that have a direct impact on the business.
Solve complex compliance challenges in cross-border payments.
